Weather Match and More

I’ve seen a few ideas for a weather theme on the blogs lately and thought I’d add a couple of my own. The matching game has pictures of different kinds of weather. There is the sun, a day with a blue sky, wind blowing the trees, a snowflake and a cloud with raindrops. The matching pictures either are something you’d wear in that type of weather or something you can do. In the wind, you can fly a kite, if you are out in the bright sun, you’d need to put on sunglasses etc.

Sounds For Four Seasons

I thought of this project this morning after seeing a four seasons project posted on Twitter. I thought why not do a listening activity for the four seasons. It took me hours to do this today since most of the sounds are newly recorded. It was hard to think up everything for all the seasons, especially spring, but I hope you enjoy this. To have some of the sounds make sense to the kids in regards to the seasons, you can combine this with other projects in a seasons theme. It was brought to my attention that having an apple or popcorn to represent fall and winter might not be so obvious to some kids since those things are here all year round, but I tried coming up with a food related sound for each season. Of course, a food item for spring is missing because I was at a loss. I think it turned out fine though.
