Tupac Amaru Shakur (June 16, 1971 - September 13, 1996), known by its name (or simply Pac) 2Pac and Makaveli, was an American rapper and actor. Shakur has sold over 75 million albums worldwide in 2007, making him one of the greatest artists of music sold worldwide. Rolling Stone Magazine named him to its 86th greatest artist of all time.

On September 7, 1996, Shakur was shot four times in the metropolitan area of Las Vegas Nevada. He was taken to University Medical Center, where he died six days later of respiratory failure and cardiac arrest.
