That I am not my own, but belong with body and soul, both in life and in death, to my faithful Saviour Jesus Christ. He has fully paid for all my sins with His precious blood, and has set me free from all the power of the devil. He also preserves me in such a way that without the will of my heavenly Father not a hair can fall from my head; indeed, all things must work together for my salvation. Therefore, by His Holy Spirit He also assures me of eternal life and makes me heartily willing and ready from now on to live for Him. -The Heidelberg Catechism
We all experience moments of struggle and moments of uncertainty. We have been traveling through a moment, such as this, this past week on the homestead. We prayed faithfully (though it is never enough!), alone, together, and with those willing to pray with us. And I cried, because that's what I do when I get overwhelmed.
But God is good! He faithfully brought us through this struggle, to a place where we can glorify Him! He has worked for good in the lives of those who love him, just as He promises. Imagine!
I have referred to this catechism many times over the last week, trusting that "without the will of my heavenly Father, not a hair can fall from my head". What great news! What comfort! All is of the Lord - every moment, every struggle, every breath.
I pray that this truth would bring you comfort today. How great our blessings are!
