Before I was a Mom, I completed thoughts, books, errands, chores, magazines, and meals.
Before I was a Mom, shoe choice was decided upon the weather...not upon how many times I had to get kids in/out of the car, in/out of the stroller, and how far I had to walk until I could sit down again.
Before I was a Mom, I had a small pocketbook.
Before I was a Mom, I didn't think that much about sun protection.
Before I was a Mom, I did a lot less laundry and minded a lot more.
Before I was a Mom, I didn't try to turn everything into an "adventure."
Before I was a Mom, I slept...I slept well.
Before I was a Mom, the busy street I live on didn't bother me as much.
Before I was a Mom, I never examined the sidewalk or grass like I do now.
Before I was a Mom, my house was actually decorated.
Before I was a Mom, Dog didn't bother me as much...now she's just another person staring at me wanting me to guess her thoughts.
Before I was a Mom, no one pushed my nipple like it was a doorbell and said "boobie." (okay, well maybe Husband did once, but that doesn't count, right?)
Before I was a Mom, I didn't have so much plastic in my house (seriously...why aren't the environmental people going after kid toy manufacturers...this shit can't be recycled, right?).
Before I was a Mom, I never dreamed I would go through so much to actually become a Mom...I didn't even like kids.
Before I was a Mom, I was a teacher...I now feel that it's important to hold my own kids to a high standard, but I'm letting other kids off the hook...it's usually not their fault.
Before I was a Mom, I peed alone.
Before I was a Mom, I loved my life...I still do...I just miss some of the things from my former life...B.K. Before Kids.

Play along...if you're up for it. This is part of mamakat's Writer's Workshop.
