8 Weeks...my we're getting old!

It's hard to believe that 8 weeks ago, I was lying in bed getting ready to have my babies. I was upstairs and trying to sleep in...I was upset that I had to go to the hospital with no makeup, contact, or lotion. Small problems...petty thoughts, but that's all I had at the time. Now I have two great babies and love them with all that I am. What can I say? I waited a long time to have them and now I can't stop loving them!

Matthew's Personality Traits:

• When he's hungry, he's inconsolable...and loud!
• Generally a happy kid.
• Loves to grab onto your shirt, hair, or arm in order to be close to you.
• Does not like to be put down.
• Just started to realize that his sister is staying.
• Gets scared if he suddenly realizes that he's alone.
• Gets very frustrated with Tummy Time...he wants to be on the move right now!
• Has the biggest smile, but conditions must be optimal to see it.
  

Hailey's Personality Traits:

• Very relaxed...she will just sit in her crib until someone comes to get her.
• One of the most observant babies I've seen.
• Loves to be cuddled.
• Doesn't mind Tummy Time, but won't work as hard to move around.
• Will just stare into your eyes as if she's trying to read your thoughts.
• Looks at her brother when he's crying like he's crazy!
• Tries so hard to smile, but it comes out looking very weird. She opens her mouth really wide and kind of winks one eye, but no smile. I saw it once this week, but I haven't since then.
  

They change every day and I love to see what is next. We are settled into a nice routine...it's tough when they get off of it, but we handle it...what else can we do? We have decided not to travel for the holidays at all. Some of our family doesn't understand why we're being so cautious about travel and bringing the babies around a lot of people, but that's fine. This is a decision that we made before they were even born. While I realize that our families want to see the babies (and they might even want to see us!), I can't risk them getting sick and I really can't have them losing their routine. A lot of people don't realize that there is a huge difference having two babies on a routine as opposed to one baby. It's a whole different world! I'm really trying not to explain myself when people question me...I am allowed to make my own decisions...I'm the Mommy!

My sister was in to visit this weekend. She lives in Boston and we just miss each other. We went shopping on Saturday and realized that neither of us has someone to do that with. It was really nice to have her around and just talk and laugh and make fun of people. She's great with the babies and they are so comfortable with her. It was a great weekend!
