I've been using this for Jett since he was 4 months old. It's been a constant struggle to get him to eat it. I just have to get it in him! The NV does no help in the bottle. I hear that hiding it in nut butters work great...
I hear that mixing it with Tang may mask the taste but now I have to see what's in Tang! And I'm sure I'm not going to like the ingredients. He eats so little food aside from breast milk that I only want the healthiest, most nutrient dense items.
1. My child is just a little older than Jett and I've had to get creative to get the daily supplement in her. She isn't much of an eater, so I've tended to put in two of her milk bottles. Sometimes I add some flavored kefir to make it more appealing. Sometimes it works, other times not. She's just starting to use the straw, so I will have to figure out a new method when she's weaned from bottles. I do not put it in her honey bear because I want that to be a completely positive experience while she's getting the hang of it. The past 3 weeks I've been trying a new method at dinnertime - I mix in the daily supplement, ginkgo, CoQ10, and green pastures CLO with butter. The smell is atrocious to me, but it's only 3 -4 baby sized bites. Then I have her yummy food on the ready as her "chaser". She takes the first bite, cringes but eats it because there's nothing else she can do with it. Then I tell her there are 2 more bites and show her the yummy food. She takes it and then gets her yummy food. Sometimes, I need to put my hand under her chin to steady her chewing to get it down. Usually, this works, but that leads me to my second random thought...
2. Kids go through phases about what they will eat and not eat so this may just be his way of testing the waters with you. One of my kids refused to eat blueberries and then one weekend decided that was all he'd eat and he ate 2 full pints over a weekend. Then he wouldn't eat them again for a few months. Kids can be fickle. Maybe that's all this is and you needn't over analyze his nutrivene strike. If he's taken it before, then he can take it again.
MSB from Nutri-chem. It is easy to get your child to take it w/ some applesauce and it doesn't have the strong vitamin smell. Mothers have noticed an improvement in ADHD symptoms. When the free samples arrive, they come with a wonderful book about DS and vitamin therapy. Click for info about MSB.
It costs $99 ($13 shipping to the US) and you can get discounts when you purchase more than one bottle. I just ordered the unflavored version for the first time on 4/26/2011. I'll let you know how it works for Jett.

Vitaspectrum
You will need both the Vitaspectrum and the amino acid complete supplement.
I compared vitaspectrum with Nutrivene...
I like that VS has the "bioactive forms of folate, B12, and B6 are included along with naturally-sourced carotenes, vitamin E, and D for optimal nutrient absorption and utilization. Iron and copper, often contraindicated in ASD, are excluded. VitaSpectrum™ is free of common
allergens, including milk/casein, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, wheat/gluten, yeast, and soybeans. No starch, maltodextrin, stearates, artificial sweeteners, colors, flavors, or preservatives are used.
This powdered formula complies with Gluten-Free/Casein-Free (GFCF) diets"
That is AWESOME! Better than NV!
NV does have all the amino acids, but the dose Jett takes isn't nearly enough of those anyway.... I guess I can just give those myself. (He does get l-tyrosine now). I see that this company also has an amino acid complex capsule.
I understand it's hard to see results right away with multivitamins--it's more of a long term pay off.
